#SpagTowerChallenge

It’s Competition Time again! It’s time to test your planning, skill, creativity and patience…

The Great Spaghetti & Marshmallow Tower Building Challenge is brought to you by Run Projects and our structural engineering friends, Blue Engineering.

Various discussions were had about what building materials should be used for this competition and then, all of a sudden, after a few days of silence this awesome image appeared from Blue Engineering on our WhatsApp feed:

This tower measured 1m in height, just to give you an idea of what’s possible!

So the Great Spaghetti & Marshmallow Challenge was born! We questioned whether it was appropriate to ask people to use spaghetti during a time when it may not be easy to get hold of but the beauty of this is that, after your tower collapses (which it may or may not do), you can boil up the spaghetti and enjoy a delightful pasta dish. It’s up to you whether you eat the marshmallows!

The competition will run until midnight on 12th May 2020. The winning creations will be judged on complexity, flare and the weird and wonderful!

Over the course of the next two weeks we will try to post a few top tips. Here are a couple to get you going:

  • Consider leaving your marshmallows out for a few hours (or longer) before starting.
  • Have a plain background when photographing your creation – it will make it easier to see.

Please submit your entry (or entries) via Instagram or Facebook and tag #SpagTowerChallenge, @RunProjects and @BlueEngineering OR email to hello@runprojects.co.uk. When emailing, please include your name, age, email and phone number.

Good luck and we can’t wait to see your creations.
